WEB DESIGN FROM SCRATCH

If you don’t have a website, but need one, then I can help you every step of the way. We will start with a discussion of your needs, wishes and expectations to define what the purpose of your website will be. We will finish with a clear and accessible site that communicates your message in an effective way.

WEBSITE REVIEW

Maybe you already have a website and you are happy with how it looks? There is more to a website than meets the eye. I can review your existing website and I will look at the following:

• Is it accessible to all users?
  Potential customers could have accessibility issues, either people with disabilities or people without broadband access for example.
• Is your site search engine friendly?
  The content of your site needs to be easy to understand by people as well as search engines – they “read” your site too. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is about having the right words in the right places on your page.
• How does your site look in different browsers or different screen sizes?
  You want your site to look the same in all of them, and if your site is coded with web standards it is more likely to do so.

When I review your site I will give you comprehensive feedback on any problems your site might have, how they can be improved and what the benefits will be if you do so. If you decide for me to go ahead with making these improvements then I will refund you the review fee.

RE-DESIGN OF AN EXISTING WEBSITE

If you already have a website, but it has outgrown you or is not performing the way you were hoping it would then I can probably help you out. I can start by reviewing your site to see what can be done to improve it. If your site is no longer adequate to your requirements we can sit down and discuss why and how this can be put back on track.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Written content is important, but you might want some images on your website as well. As an experienced editorial photographer I can advise on, or even take, images for your site.

PRICES

Every website is different and giving an exact price is difficult. Most of the websites I build start at £500, depending on the needs and specifications of the client, this might increase.

All the websites I develop include:

• bespoke design,
• are web standard compliant,
• search engine friendly
• and have a one-year warranty (subject to T&C).

I offer several different packages to give you an idea of the final cost.

WEB STANDARDS

Web standards are about many things, but mainly they are about separating the content of your site from the way it looks. This will make it easier to update your site.

But there are other benefits as well:

• Your site will perform better in search engines so more visitors will be able to find your website.
• ALL visitors finding your site will be able to access it, regardless of how they are viewing your site.
• It will look the same in all browsers.
• And it will be easier to maintain in the future.
