Working remote
I just finished a web design project where I never met the client in person, ever. My first proper “remote” project.
The project involved four people, including myself. All conversations were done by phone or email. We shared a dropbox folder for all text, images and design mockups. A working demo and build-in-progress was put online in a separate folder on the client’s website.
Meeting a client face-to-face has its advantages, most notably in quality of feedback. But on this project the email and phone feedback were constructive, detailed and focused on the issues they related to. Probably more so than if we had met in person.
But most interesting of all the client is based in Long Eaton. The next town along. Half an hour by car. Yet we have never met.
